Hello from TimeLogic
2026-05-10
Welcome to the TimeLogic API blog. We'll use this space for short, practical notes on the things we run into while building and maintaining a low-latency time API: DST transitions that catch everyone off guard, timezone aliases, IANA database releases, performance tuning at the edge, and the occasional opinion on date-handling in modern stacks.
Why a blog at all?
Most time APIs treat dates as a solved problem. They aren't. Every release of the IANA timezone database changes something — a country shifts its DST rules, a new alias is added, an old one is deprecated. We want a place to talk through those changes as they happen, and to share what we learn from running this API in production.
What to expect
- Short posts (5 minute reads) on real engineering and timezone topics
- Release notes when we ship meaningful API changes
- The occasional deep-dive on a tricky edge case
Thanks for reading.
